Estancia Cameron, Tierra del Fuego
workers´dining hall, c1943
Although adjacent to the exposed,
west-facing coast of Useless Bay, the ranch buildings are placed
snugly in a steep-sided, narrow valley, out of the full blast
of wind. The workers were provided with their own accommodations,
including this dining hall. Both wings, and the covered walkway
down the length of the facade, are attractively decorated with
a simple motif of diagonal timbers.
