bus halt at rural hotel

Bus passengers, c1940?
Gravel roads made rural bus services feasible, thus supplying an important public service. Since the roads were rough, however, speeds were low by modern standards. The driver and passengers of this photo took advantage of this rest stop at the "Gran Hotel Turismo" of F. Marinkovic, located roughly mid-way between Punta Arenas and Puerto Natales.
