Fire is an ever-present threat in Patagonia, because of the large amount of wooden construction, and the frequency of high winds. The first fire company in Punta Arenas was formed in 1889.

This impeccably polished vehicle is an "Overland". The crew members were Sargeants Alfonso Ottiker and Juan Pourget Casseaux.
