Yahgan Shelter, 1898
When Anglican missionaries set up
operations at Tekenika in 1892, many of the nomadic Yahgans gathered
semi-permanently around the mission buildings. This family was
still living in the traditional shelter of sticks and branches,
although all were wearing European-style clothes. For more images
of this mission, see the
Tekenika
Album.
