In the days before every family could afford its own camera, studio photographs were in great demand: either to send to close family, distant friends and relatives, or simply to keep as a cherished memento. Naturally, these were occasions for looking one´s best. Sometimes the studio décor was luxurious, with European or exotic motifs.
